Abstract

|
Functional hearing ability is the set of hearing abilities that enable a person to perform normally their daily activities that require hearing. The need for functional hearing assessment protocols has grown significantly, and several tests were designed for assessing speech communication in noise. Hearing in Noise Test (HINT) measures sentence speech reception thresholds in noise, and enables evaluating functional hearing activity (FHA). HINT sentences represent natural speech with uniformity in length. This test will allow us cross-language and international studies because its multi-language versions have been developed recently.
